A RECIPE FOR DISASTER: The Democrat Agenda of Decline, Death and Disconnect

Following the election of 2020, the Democrat Party stormed into office.  The party bellowed to the world that it had a mandate to save democracy.  According to the Democrats, the election of 2020 had been a referendum on the direction of governing the country.  In their view, there had been two choices, with one being a diabolical leader and his nefarious clique who would govern with an iron fist. (Trump) The other would be the constitutional order maintained through Democratic rule. (Biden) It is ironic and somewhat disturbing to see how the Democrats were able to project the reality of their upcoming rule on Trump.  The Democrats would prove triumphant and the Party would do its best to affirm Trump’s defeat by lambasting him in the media and demagogically impeaching him in the Congress for the riot of January 6th.  In the meantime, Joe Biden had taken the presidential mantle under the auspices of a moderate and a unifier.  Commercials broadcasted during the Super Bowl affirmed this theme of normalcy, a nation restored, and an end to a chaotic period.  But the Democrat Party had an agenda and it was a radical one.  The Party would use the power of executive order and the legislative process to sow the fruits of its labor and redefine normalcy. 

But unbeknownst to the American people, these policies would put the United States on an economic rollercoaster causing many predictions of American decline to be proclaimed.  On his first days in office, Joe Biden signed numerous executive orders rescinding the policies of the previous administration.  Work on the Keystone Pipeline came to an end, regulations pertaining to oil drilling and production were enacted.  But these policies neglected to take into account that a reduction in the supply of oil without a corresponding decrease in demand can have only one result.  Inflation!  The increase in the price of energy would have reverberations throughout the economy.  Truckers, retailers and manufacturers all would feel the pinch of the price increase and have no choice but to pass these hikes on to consumers.  As domestic oil production stagnated and prices rose, Joe Biden went like a pauper hat in hand throughout the world seeking an increase in the global oil production.  No country, no matter how odious the government, was immune to this begging, even communist Venezuela.  But this would not be the end of America’s descent into the economic abyss!  More regulations and the printing of the US dollar caused inflation to soar to levels not seen since the Carter Administration.  Attempts to calm the public with claims the price hikes were transitory would fall on deaf ears as inflation climbed.  Wage gains made during 2017-2020 evaporated as the standard of living fell. Internationally, US prestige collapsed with the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and the inability to deter Putin from invading Ukraine. President Biden’s policy to negotiate and conciliate Iran boomeranged which resulted with an attack on Israel by Hamas, the proxy of Iran.  

Such events caused many to affirm these notions of US decline.  With the US economy cratering and the world in flames, US credibility was faltering, the Democrat Party had decided to embark on an open border policy.  Though not announced and much denied, a steady flow of illegal aliens could provide the Party with a significant voting bloc, once legalized by a future Democratic Congress.  But such a strategy would create a long trail of death. The open border would prove to be a highway for fentanyl smuggling into the United States which resulted in the tragic deaths of tens of thousands of Americans.  Attempts to draw attention to the crisis were ignored and put off the front page by the media.  Independent documentaries illustrated the ravages of fentanyl in urban areas and with the youth.  This illicit drug was often manufactured with the sole purpose to kill and it was working. But the stench of death was not related to drugs alone, whispers of human trafficking eventually were blared for all to hear.  Stories of minors disappearing into the American heartland perpetuated fears of the worst kind. Once again the media, lackeys for the Biden Administration ignored the stories, in spite of the human calamity.  Other tales of gangs gaining control of various communities finally reached news outlets and shocked the nation.  These stories of violence by illegal aliens gained traction, especially with a number of high profile murders such as Laken Riley in Georgia.

In spite of these happenings, the Democrat Party’s disconnect with the American people continued to grow rather than contract.  The Party’s wholehearted affirmation of transgenderism created a chasm with the public at large.  The states of California and Minnesota proclaimed it was a sanctuary state for trangendered children escaping other states.  Furthermore, it was announced that California public schools would not have to inform parents of children who decide to change their pronouns.  Throughout the nation Americans saw these moves as a means to radically undermine the authority of parents and empower a leviathan state against the liberty of the family.  

It was the fervent application of these policies that saw the Democrats lose votes with traditional constituencies such as Latinos and African-Americans.  The Democrats' policy moves created an image that the Party embraced an agenda which affirms decline, death and a disconnect with the American people.  The electorate had had enough.  A return to the Trump years of low inflation, real wage increases, border enforcement and global tranquility would be very inviting.  Trump’s courage in the face of two assassination attempts, a number of bogus lawfare cases by local party stooges  increased admiration and support and allowed Trump to sweep to an electoral mandate which included victory (though slight) in all battleground states.   In light of the victory, a growing sense of optimism and momentum was sweeping the country. If this energy is turned into policy victories, Democrats will have to raise their arms and ask, what have we done?
