MOB RULE IN THE WILD WEST

Cities on fire!  The streets are controlled by rampaging mobs!  Police are pushed back on their heels! What is happening here?  Is this a third world country fracturing?  Or a nation confronted with sectarian violence splintering into various sects? Maybe, it could quite possibly be one that is enveloped with a poverty stricken mass ready to revolt?  The answers to the above are no, no and finally no. On the contrary, this is the United States of America which so happens to be the center of global economic, military and cultural power.  In spite of this, the violence is real and it is not just ordinary mayhem but crimes of a political nature and it is emanating from one side of the aisle-the Left.  The issue at stake is the federal government’s promise to remove illegal aliens from within the borders of the United States which is allowed by the US Constitution and the  American legal code.  But the sanctity of law is not what it once was, especially on the Left (how dangerous is that) and in Los Angeles mobs converged on ICE agents who were arresting individuals who were not only in the country illegally, but were suspected of committing heinous crimes, ranging from murder to human trafficking.  Now if memory serves me correctly, murder and human trafficking are crimes, whether the perpetrator has legal or illegal status.  But on this day, the Leftist mobs would have none of it and were more than happy to let these violent criminals remain free to prey on the citizens of Los Angeles.  Not only did the mob want these perpetrators to be free but they were going to riot to affirm the point.  Then, the hooligans went on a rampage, burning and pillaging, all to free violent criminals.  The result was the usual, public property destroyed and defaced with rioters burning the flag of the Stars and Stripes but feverishly waving the banners of foreign entities.  The law enforcers were depicted as enemies of the people with vile threats and accusations being hurled against them. (Often physically)  Agents now masked up to protect their identity from future retribution from protesters, who were anything but virtuous, civic minded men and women. The law itself was being delegitimized because the local authorities, the Leftist governor and the Leftist mayor openly ignored applying the statutes which had been passed by an elected body and in doing so implicitly sided with violence and lawlessness.  Such a response, allowing mayhem and destruction are now becoming part of the political culture of the Left.  In California itself, groups such as the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights in Los Angeles (CHIRLA) have allegedly organized part of the riots with taxpayer funded  money and this entity also quite possibly gave campaign contributions to the current governor Gavin Newsom.  In the not so distant past, questions and divisions over policy resulted in long debates over future laws in the state legislature or the Congress.  If the result of the debate was not satisfactory, the issue would become a hot campaign topic with the people rendering the final verdict during the election season through the vote.  But this basic tenet of a republic is now being questioned openly as the results of elections are being challenged by the losing party in the streets through rioting. The use of violence is utilized as a means to intimidate ICE to stop enforcing the law in the belief the costs of enforcement will be greater than the benefit. But the new administration has made enforcement a centerpiece of its agenda and it believes it has a popular mandate to do so.  The question is how will the public respond to the erupting violence?  Will the people succumb to these overt public threats by demanding the government ratchet down its enforcement or will the public be fed up with these undisguised threats and continue the support of the legal authority against those advocating lawlessness and chaos.  Let us hope the rule of law is victorious and the people shun, stigmatize and punish the mob.
